Abstract:

The article is devoted to the analysis of the source potential of the reviews of provinces in terms of presenting information about education (enlightenment). In the 19th and early 20th centuries reviews were the main reporting document which concentrated analytical data (political, social and economic) on a condition and development of provinces and areas. The reports contain analytical information on the socio-economic, political state of the province. The reviews were an annual reporting document, therefore, they can be used to track the process of formation of a network of educational institutions in dynamics. Studying this issue on the territory of the Central Asian regions of Russia is very promising, because it has significant features from other regions.
