Abstract:

The article analyzes the concept of “social value of art”. It is established that the significance of art for society is determined by the functions that art performs in society. It is argued that art can influence both the stability of the existing society and the loosening of its foundations. Briefly describes the influence of art on ideology, worldview, traditions, lifestyles, beliefs, etc. It is concluded that, despite the skeptical attitude to the social and historical significance of art on the part of some researchers, art continues to play an important social role in the modern world.
