Abstract:

The development of information technology contributes to the introduction of new models of human interaction with a computer. One such model is virtual and augmented reality. This article reveals the essence of VR and AR technologies in the education system. The relevance of this topic is determined. The general characteristic of virtual and augmented reality is given. Particular attention is paid to identifying the advantages and disadvantages of such technologies. It is shown that their use provides excellent opportunities for the education system, but there are certain negative aspects. The problems that may arise on the way of introducing VR and AR into the education system are considered. In conclusion, the prospects for the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies are revealed.
